It began in 1935. Harold Reynold's dream of starting an oil business had become a reality. But times were tough and oil was scarce. Harold worked hard supplying fuel for the heaters that he and his brother, Ralph, installed. Harold was so committed to providing reliable service that at one point he ruined a new truck rather than disappoint a customer.

His commitment to the community was equally strong. Harold would pay the fee for any new employee to join the Central Valley Fire Company, himself a member since age 16.
